Friday 18 December 2020 to Sunday 10 January 2021. This consultation is closed and results are available.

Thank you for your contribution to the 2021/2022 Budget Consultation.

Throughout the engagement and consultation process, we have heard from around 500 people which has helped to develop our Budget, Council Tax levels for next year and our overall savings plan, aligned to our corporate ambitions in the County Plan.

The consultation was held in two main phases:

Phase 1 - Local consultation with town and parish councils and focus groups, including businesses, led by Impact Consultancy and Research and Max Bassett Research and supported by senior officers, from Tuesday 1 December 2020 until Friday 18 December 2020 (17 Zoom meetings).

The results of Phase 1 can be seen in Phase 1 Engagement below.

Phase 2 - Online consultation with the public in the form of two surveys for residents and organisations/businesses from Friday 18 December 2020 to Monday 10 January 2021 considering three areas:

  • The council budget and savings programme
  • Council Tax and social care precept
  • Potential schemes to support vulnerable residents

The results of Phase 2 can be seen in Phase 2 Engagement below.

Budget consultation also took the form of social media and internal consultation with council staff.

The results of the social media engagement can be seen in Social Media Summary below.

The results of the staff budget consultation is also shown below.

These results informed our final Draft Budget and Medium Term Financial Strategy which was presented to, and approved by, Full Council on 12 February 2021.

The results of the consultation have now been collated and reports are available to view:
