Have your say on the support services required to support unpaid carers.
Thursday 8 August to Friday 6 September 2024. This consultation is closed.

As part of our ongoing support for unpaid carers of all ages, Herefordshire Council commissions independent advice, guidance and support to help unpaid carers maintain their own health, wellbeing and resilience.

Our recently published All Age Carers Strategy 2024-2029 sets out our key priorities to support unpaid carers over the next five years. This document will be the guide for ensuring local support to unpaid carers will meet their needs and expectations.

We are about to renew our contract for the provision of carer support services in the county, and will be advertising for appropriate organisations to apply for the new contract.

Within the contract is a service specification which sets out our expectations for the services and support to be provided.

Have your say

We asked you to complete an online survey, which was was open to all, but we especially wanted to hear from people who had recent or current experience of being an unpaid carer.

You could comment on the help, support and guidance you would expect from the provider of unpaid carer support services across Herefordshire.

We wanted your help to make sure those priorities and expectations are appropriate and to help identify if there are any important elements missing from the service specification.

What happens next

We are reviewing responses to the survey against our service specification to help ensure we are seeking the support required for our unpaid carers.

Your answers and suggestions will help us to make sure that Herefordshire is a carer friendly county, where carers of all ages are recognised, valued, heard and enabled to live a healthy fulfilling family life.

Your privacy

The questionnaire was completely anonymous; you did not need to provide any personal information.

Closing date

The survey closed at 5pm on Friday 6 September 2024.
